This award recognises the work of a Student Voice Leader within each faculty who has spent the year working hard to make changes for students at Middlesex.

We're looking for a Student Voice Leader who has:

• Engaged with the students they represent, gathering feedback and keeping their coursemates informed
• Worked with their department leaders and academic staff
• Made positive changes on their course and contributed to student life at MDX
• Engaged with training and other opportunities offered by MDXSU

This award celebrates a student who has shown exceptional commitment to creating positive change at Middlesex, locally or even nationally through campaigning, advocacy and activism.

We're looking for a student who has:

• Identified an issue affecting students or the wider community and taken meaningful action to address it
• Engaged and mobilised other students, raising awareness and encouraging participation
• Worked collaboratively with MDXSU, University departments or external organisations to strengthen their campaign
• Ensured their campaign is inclusive, accessible and reflective of the diverse experiences within the Middlesex community
• Made a tangible impact, whether through policy change, cultural change, community benefit or increased visibility of an important issue

The above list is not exhaustive, and we welcome nominations for any student who has made a significant contribution through campaigning or activism this year.

This award celebrates the hard work of our amazing student groups and the impact they make on life at Middlesex – organising events, leading campaigns and providing opportunities for students to meet new people or learn new things.

The winning group will have:

• Created a sense of community and belonging amongst its members
• Kept a variety of events, activities, workshops and/or campaigns going throughout the year
• Remained active and visible online so students and MDXSU know what they're up to
• Collaborated with other groups/teams (within MDX or external) to put on activity for students
• Communicated effectively with the MDXSU Opportunities Team

Every year, students organise hundreds of events for the Middlesex University community to enjoy – from socials to exhibitions, guest lectures to unforgettable parties.

This award exists to recognise a student or student group who delivered an event which:

• Was successful in terms of attendance, the experience of guests and the aims of the event
• Demonstrated excellent project management and organisational skills
• Showed innovation and creativity, with attention to inclusivity and the diverse membership of our student body

Examples of events include socials, clubnights, guest speaker lectures, employability events, campaign activity, trips, exhibitions

Every year, MDXSU supports students to set up exciting new groups to share their studies, interests, culture or beliefs.

This award will recognise a student group which:

• Has been established or re-established after a period of inactivity* within the current academic year (2025 – 26)
• Has shown dedication and innovation in reaching new members and getting the group up and running
• Has put on a number of successful events and activities for their members or the wider student community, perhaps even collaborating with other student groups

*Inactivity counted as at least one academic year

This award recognises a student who has made an outstanding contribution to student life at Middlesex through helping other students and supporting wider communities; and who may not have been previously recognised for their contributions and deserves celebrating.

We are looking for a student who may have:

• Encouraged, empowered and inspired their peers
• Made a real positive impact at Middlesex University
• Developed and shown excellent leadership skills
• Gone above and beyond to support the Middlesex or wider local community through volunteering, fundraising, community organising or providing a support network
• Made a significant impact to others, either through smaller-scale support and activity on an individual basis, or through organising or taking part in a larger group activity

This award recognises an individual or group who has made an active effort to support and encourage wellbeing and community amongst underrepresented groups at Middlesex.

We are looking for a student or group who may have:

• Worked to ensure activities are accessible and inclusive of all
• Worked to inspire and educate others through activity which celebrates inclusivity
• Made the effort to make activity accessible and inclusive to as many students as possible
• Created a safe space and sense of community for students to engage with
• Acknowledged intersectionality throughout the year

This award recognises a student staff member or intern who has gone above and beyond to make a positive contribution to working at MDXSU.

This might include:

• Team working and going beyond their role to help out in other areas of work
• Making a positive contribution to the lives of students by enhancing the work of the Students' Union
• Creating a welcoming and positive environment for all students who engage with MDXSU
• Setting a positive example as a role model to other members of staff
