Our Liberation Groups are for students who face oppression and discrimination and are often underrepresented and disadvantaged during their time at University, whether in their education or wider society. The Liberation Groups have been established not only to recognise where students may need further support but also to celebrate and showcase the fantastic work by and about students who are disabled, women, POC and LGBTQ+.
At Middlesex University, we have communities for women students, disabled students, POC liberation (People of Colour) and LGBTQ+ students (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, +). Each Liberation Group is led by an elected student committee that self-identifies with that specific group. These groups meet regularly throughout the year to network and socialise, share experiences, discuss life at Middlesex, and plan campaigns.
To join and lead one of the MDXSU Liberation Groups, you must self-identify with that specific group - you may identify with more than one! If you do not self-identify with any of the Liberation Groups, you can still get involved with events, actions and socials as an ally!
