Data & Insight Senior Coordinator

Starting Salary £31,894.76 (up to £44,712.23)
Contract 2 Years Fixed, Full-time (35 hrs/week)
Location Hendon Campus — hybrid available (80% in office, term time)
Eligibility Recent MDX graduates (last 2 years) or Student Officers finishing summer 2026

About the Role

A strategic role for someone who can turn data into decisions. You'll build MDXSU's insight function, translate student data into clear narratives, and partner with the Communications team to make our student engagement work progressively smarter and more impactful.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and manage data gathering systems (UnionCloud, analytics, surveys) and build accessible dashboards
  • Partner with Communications to review campaign performance and shape engagement strategy
  • Lead analysis of key surveys (including NSS) and qualitative research to inform MDXSU's priorities
  • Produce weekly to annual performance reports for SLT, department managers, and the Trustee Board
  • Train colleagues in effective data use and ensure all data practice is ethical and GDPR-compliant

What We're Looking For

Experience analysing and presenting data to non-specialist audiences. Strong storytelling and data visualisation skills. Genuine understanding of student life at Middlesex.

About the Role

A role for someone who can turn student voice into action and influence. You'll plan, deliver and elevate MDXSU's campaigning and democratic engagement activity — connecting insight with action and equipping students with the tools to organise, participate, and create change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of student-led campaigns aligned with key student issues and MDXSU priorities
  • Support and strengthen democratic structures, including Union Council, petitions, and policy development
  • Manage MDXSU's Ideas for Change service and ensure petitions feed into democratic decision-making
  • Design and deliver training and workshops on campaigning, influencing, and advocacy
  • Build a pipeline of student leaders and encourage progression into representative and sabbatical roles

What We're Looking For

Experience leading or supporting campaigns or initiatives that aim to influence change. Strong facilitation and communication skills across diverse audiences. Genuine commitment to student empowerment and inclusive participation.

Student Trustee

Term 1 or 2 years (must be a student for the duration)
Time Commitment Approx. 12 days per year, including 5 Board meetings, an annual away day, and bi-yearly socials
Location Hendon Campus, Middlesex University
Eligibility Current Middlesex University student

About the Role

MDXSU is seeking to appoint two new Student Trustees to bring student perspectives to the Board. Trustees are responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of MDXSU, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and effective use of resources to achieve our charitable objectives. You don't need to have been a Trustee before — we'll provide a full induction and training to help you succeed in the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to setting and reviewing MDXSU's strategic direction and priorities
  • Ensure MDXSU complies with its governing documents, charity law, and other relevant legislation
  • Approve annual budgets and review financial performance regularly
  • Identify and assess risks and ensure appropriate mitigations are in place
  • Act as an ambassador for MDXSU and contribute to an inclusive, collaborative board culture

Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to think strategically and contribute to long-term planning. Commitment to the values and mission of MDXSU, and the ability to act with integrity and make objective decisions. We welcome a variety of experiences — professional, voluntary or lived experience.
