Omar Khan's Priorities:
- Community Building – Creating channels for ongoing communication and feedback between the university, the students, and the local community, ensuring concerns are heard and addressed in a transparent way
- Sustaining Communities – Engaging students in sustainability-focused projects and research opportunities, providing the experience for students in developing innovative solutions and promoting sustainable practices on campus and beyond
- Communications – Improve communication channels between students and the university, facilitating open dialogue, and transparent information sharing to build trust and a sense of shared responsibility for the success of the university and students
The Community & Citizenship Officer represents Student Members to the University and external audiences. In their role, they will actively encourage students to make a wider contribution to their University community and encourage opportunities for students in this area. They facilitate collaborative activity undertaken by the student body and empower students as leaders to influence their experience at the University. They promote a holistic approach to student life beyond educational and representational functions; and work to facilitate this aspect of student life across Middlesex. They lead in policy-making and campaigning work, in conjunction with other Officers, by using appropriate methods to address the needs of our student community. They are Sabbatical Trustees and play a key role in the relationship between students and the Trustee Board.
