Something is happening at MDX… and we need your help to investigate. From Monday 19th to Thursday 22nd October, make your voice heard, pick up new skills and help shape what your Students' Union does next. Your Voice, Your Case.

What is Speak Week?

Speak Week is a week of ways to share your thoughts, experiences and ideas about life at Middlesex. You've already helped shape your university, from new basketball courts to making Subway halal, but there are still plenty of cases waiting to be solved. Here's how to get involved.

Student Leader Conference

Our Student Leader Conference is running twice, bringing you the skills and training you need to experience MDX to the full. For every session you attend, you'll receive a LinkedIn recommendation from MDXSU's official account for the skill you've learnt.

As an SU, we exist because of you, and we see the incredible work our SVLs, society leaders, petition writers and all of you do every year. This is our way of helping you hone that craft for your career after MDX, or pick up a brand-new skill. 

Student Council

Have an idea or want to make a change? Student Council gives every student the opportunity to share their views, hold elected Officers to account and help shape the future of MDXSU. Join us on Tuesday 20th October, 5pm – 6pm at MDX House. At Student Council you will:

  • Discuss, organise and support campaigns, events, projects and ideas
  • Debate idea proposals and vote on whether they become the political policy of the union
  • Co-create changes to your teaching and courses with your faculty leaders
  • Enjoy free pizza and quizzes while you get to know your elected Officers

Future Files

Future Files is your chance to decide what we investigate next. Step into our mystery investigation, explore the Solved Case Files, uncover the Unsolved Cases and tell us what MDXSU should change, improve or introduce next.

Think you know your AI? Put your knowledge to the test with our interactive AI challenges, with prizes up for grabs. Find us at the Data Playground, Monday – Thursday, 11am – 3pm, Welcome Desk Area.

Cost of Living Survey

We're launching a brand-new way to listen to what matters to you, one where you can look back, see what students before you have changed and keep the movement going. This first phase focuses on your cost-of-living concerns, and Mihita, your SU President, will act on your feedback to target our support where you actually want it.
