Your MDXSU Officers 2026/27
Today marks the official start of the academic term for our newly elected Sabbatical Officers! Taking office from July 1st 2026 to June 30th 2027, this dynamic team is ready to champion your voice, elevate campus life, and support your educational journey at Middlesex.
Every year, Middlesex University students elect a leadership team to guide MDXSU, sit on high-level decision-making boards, and drive campus-wide change. Acting as the bridge between the student body, the University Board of Governors, and external national organisations, these officers ensure that your Middlesex experience is the best it can possibly be. Today, we officially open a new term with three passionate leaders at the helm.
Mihita Parekh (MDXSU President)
As the public face and primary spokesperson of the Union, the MDXSU President plays a vital role in championing student welfare, managing campaigns, and representing Middlesex students locally and nationally. Drawing from a strong background as our former Education Officer for the year 2024/25, Mihita's focus is deeply rooted in structural support, student rights, and wellbeing.
"I have a proven track record of delivering real change for students. As your former Education Officer, I secured funding for free period products, represented Middlesex students at Parliament, and contributed to an APPG panel on the Renters' Rights Bill. This year, I will protect student rights and expand support for placements, internships, and part-time job opportunities so every student feels supported, heard, and prepared for life after Middlesex."
Over the coming months, Mihita is dedicated to building a strong student voice that wields real power in university decisions, ensuring that student wellness and career pathways sit right at the centre of the MDXSU agenda.
Temi Osinubi (Education Officer)
The academic heartbeat of the Union relies heavily on the Education Officer. Temi's role centres on enriching your classroom experience, supporting Student Voice Leaders, and addressing teaching practices directly within university committees. He is entirely focused on expanding academic opportunities and fostering a learning environment that actively adapts to student needs.
"I am dedicated to turning your concerns into action. I will ensure every issue is addressed thoughtfully and promptly, creating real, lasting change across our university. Your voice deserves to be heard, and I will use my role to represent, empower, and make a difference for every student at MDX."
Temi's core promises focus on upgrading student learning support, working alongside the university to introduce more flexible assessment options, and providing students with more external exposure to prepare them for professional success.
Nas (Activities Officer)
University life extends far beyond the lecture theatre, and that is where our new Activities Officer steps in! Nas is tasked with organising campus-wide events, cultural celebrations, and community projects. Working hand-in-hand with Student Group Leaders, his role centres on building a deep sense of belonging and making sure extracurricular platforms support your personal and professional development.
"I want to change the MDX lifestyle. I want to make Middlesex University more attractive and fun. I feel I'm what students need and I'm a great leader."
Nas will be focusing heavily on gathering your feedback to launch diverse social opportunities, helping to turn our campus into a highly engaging, interactive, and inclusive community for everyone.
The entire Middlesex community is incredibly excited to see what Mihita, Temi and Nas will accomplish this year. Let's make this year extraordinary!
